Η Πανελλαδική Φιλοζωική Περιβαλλοντική Ομοσπονδία με ανοιχτή της επιστολή διαμαρτυρήθηκε πρόσφατα για τις συνθήκες, που επικρατούν στο δημοτικό κυνοκομείο Καστοριάς.
Ταυτόχρονα ήλθε σε επικοινωνία και με τις εμπλεκόμενες αρχές τόσο γραπτά όσο και προφορικά. Παραθέτουμε την απάντηση της Αστυνομικής Διεύθυνσης Καστοριάς τους αρμόδιους της οποίας και ευχαριστούμε για την ανταπόκρισή τους.

Recently, Panhellenic Animal Welfare and Environmental Federation sent an open letter to complain on horrific conditions in Kastoria’s municipal kennel.
At the same time, it made contact with stakeholders both written and verbal. We would like to thank police officers of Police Directorate of Kastoria for their response. Next, you can read the answer of Hellenic Police:
“We would like to inform you that animal protection is a great priority of our Directorate. In the context of the implemented policing operational planning, a number of instructions had been issued to our services. The intention is staff’s awareness on animal issues and strict application of current legislation which has main target the total elimination of animal abuse cases or abuse behavior towards animals both domesticated and strays.
Those guidelines are:
- Assistance to public services (Municipalities, Health Services, Veterinary Services etc.) while performing their duties.
- Continuous co-operation with animal welfare organizations – societies and investigation of complaints on animal abuse cases.
- Activation of an information network for identification of unknown persons who are suspected of criminal offences.
In application of the above-mentioned, our services deal immediately with cases of infringement of legal provisions and they take all procedural and official actions provided “
