OPEN LETTER – PRESS RELEASE
Members of the parliament and the wretched rackets against the animals.
“I am afraid of all these things that will happen to me without me” the animals would say, if the poor creatures could speak and had a voice
Canvassers Members of the Parliament, totally unfit to enact for animals and suspect rackets, who speculate on the animals, all are hunting votes and profits.
Nothing stops them.
Neither the expert opinion of the State’s Juridical Council.
Nor the Ministry Decision, which accepts the expert opinion.
Nor the European Contracts or Directives, which arevalid in our country since 1992 and forbid amputations.
In practice, Mr Papadodimos, President of Hunters, who was annoyed by the word “amputation” but not by the indisputable and useless animals’ torture, should learn a few Greek in order to understand that amputation means cutting of a limb. The tail and the ears are not limbs?
Nor the official answer of the responsible for these subjects Professor of Surgery in The Veterinary Department of the Aristotle University of Salonika and the studies and researches of the authoritative Veterinary Schools in USA and Europe.
We are not surprised of course with all these phenomena in the country of the total moral and economical decay and deterioration.
We are neither surprised with the private veterinarians, who for “scientific” reasons agree and support the limb’s amputations, the limbs that nature donated to animals for functional reasons and they want to cut them off. Is it true that the dominant currently neo-Darwin aspects for the natural selection, exclusively in Greece, end up being completely ridiculous?
They are only interested in their economical benefits, since even these years of amputation ban, a lot of them ( there are always exceptions) – VIOLATE THA LAW CONTINOUSLY AND RUTHLESLY cutting tails and ears.
And they consider hypocritically that there are suspicious rackets among the animal welfare associations, because they ask for the help of European volunteers, which is legal according to the Law.
In a country under economical crisis, having millions of stray animals, they wonder why (but they do not convince anybody, not even themselves) the animal welfare associations accept any given possible help from Greece and the European Community, in which we belong. Or we do not? Or we only belong when it is profitable?
Given the chance we would like to make clear that our Greek volunteer vets ask for travel, resident, feeding and pharmaceutical financial expenses, while the Europeans ask for nothing!
Why shouldn’t we then take advantage in this country with this huge population of stray animals, since it is legal and inexpensive?
We wonder why they are so persistent with their European colleagues.
What are they so afraid of and why are they so antagonistic?
Or they consider that the millions of stray animals in Greece will not be enough for the Greek volunteers to neuter?
Stop this game which ends up against the animals.
Members of Parliament, hunters, illegal breeders, e.t.c. do not be so sorry for the poor animals!!!!!! You destroy your day, these difficult days that we are facing……
And in order to answer your question as concerns our reference that representatives of the Panhellenic Veterinary Association are against amputation e.t.c. we urge you to hear very carefully the Parliament session.
