Fortunately, there are such initiatives that “wash away” the indifference of state authorities, Governments, Prosecutors, Police, Municipal and Veterinary Authorities.

The proposal for the establishment of the Interdepartmental Program of Postgraduate Studies with the subject Animal Welfare: Ethics, Law, Welfare was submitted in 2016 to the International Competition Human-Animal Studies (HAS) International Development Program by the Laboratory of Applied Philosophy of the National Kapodistrian University of Athens, and won the First Prize.

We read from the announcement of the NKUA and the department of Philosophy:

“Consequently, the need for a Postgraduate Program that offers an interdisciplinary approach to the study of human-animal relations is now more urgent than ever. The establishment of the Interdepartmental Program of Postgraduate Studies (IPS) Animals: Ethics, Law, Prosperity is a scientific and social necessity.

This IPS is innovative for the Greek education system.

It is aimed at graduates of educational, social, legal and other scientific disciplines who are interested in enriching their knowledge in relation to the social and ethical implications of our relationship with animals as well as professionals such as veterinarians and laboratory researchers who are faced with ethical choices. in relation to the proper treatment and use of animals in their daily lives.

The IPPC prepares the new generations of researchers in the sciences of Ethical Philosophy, Law and Animal Welfare who will be able to contribute to the production of new scientific knowledge in the relevant fields. “

Register participation, the announcement, the application form and more information about the program are available on the website
