Open letter of PFPO to the district attorney of A.P. for the suicide of our animal-friendly fellow citizen because of an unacceptable district attorney who called him ridiculous!
in Letters
Saturday, 1 August, 2020Sunday, 4 October, 2020

Read the tragic and at the same time revealing note he left about the reason he committed suicide.

To the district attorney of the Supreme Court Mr. V. Pliotas

Subject: Suicide of our fellow citizen due to unacceptable and anti-institutional behavior and judgment of the district attorney

Honorable district attorney,

We believe that you have been informed about the suicide of our fellow citizen due to the unacceptable behavior of the district attorney in a trial for the poisoning and killing of his pet.

She called him ridiculous, Mr. district attorney because he was mourning the death of his animal!
In the note he left before committing suicide, he addressed her and wrote: “I return the characterization of ridiculousness to the district attorney. You need to learn that there are people with respect and honor. The bums who poissoned my dog were justified “
Simple, straightforward, honest words of a man who was publicly insulted by a person unworthy of the title of Judicial district attorney, who was publicly humiliated by her because he loved his pet.
Words of a man who could not stand the acquittal of his dog killers.

Honorable district attorney,

With all due respect to Your capacity, which stems from the close communication we had with You about a year ago, we kindly pose to you a question and a request.

What actions have been taken for the specific district attorney who led to the suicide of a human being with her speech while at the same time deeply hurt the public’s trust in justice, especially regarding the objectivity in animal abuse cases:

What will be the sanctions against her?

The request we address to you is to request the case file to find out whether the acquittal of the accused is due to the unacceptable anthropocentric perception of the district attorney and in this case to be tried again.

However, in view of this tragic story, we want to point out that it is a common phenomenon for district attorneys and Judges to humiliate and ridicule animal-friendly citizens during the hearing process, using highly derogatory phrases, and this should finally stop.

Let this man’s death not go unjustly. He sent a strong signal that concentrates on the necessity of applying the laws and not the perceptions about the animals of the court officials.

No more analgesia and subjective criteria from court officials in animal abuse cases.
Let them keep to themselves their outdated notions and judge according to the law.

Finally, Mr. district attorney, we present to you reports on a trial that took place the day before yesterday, where the accused for animal abuse was a retired district attorney, who was acquitted according to the reports and the testimony of the commisioned Adviser for the stray animals of the Municipality of Athens, despite the real incidents against him.

An additional case that needs your attention and actions.

Thank you very much and we remain at your disposal for any clarification on the above while we are looking forward to Your actions.
